The movie has earned fame for its exiting plot and the impressing intention, but for me it is more than that, for it drives me to think more about democracy. As a Chinese,I was surprised by the the whole case being heard in the American court. All the jurors came from different classes and had different backgrounds, and some even had no experience of being a juror. How they could possibly judge a person if they’re having any experience? But it turns out that they as a group did a very good job.Maybe when they were chosen to be a juror they did not how to do either, but
after
going
through
the
process
they
felt
the
responsibilities, which is the right to decide the man was guilty or not.And in this way they could get involved in the American democracy and their faith to American democracy and government would be stronger.Maybe in some degree, they were parts of it.If we take a comparison between America and China,we will see that we are not so clear about how our policy system operates and therefore, in some ways, we do not acknowledge our government. What’s worse ,some people keep criticizing our government for being corrupted and undemocratic. It’s a very dangerous situation because the public acknowledgment of a nation is the basis of a country’s existence. So ,I think,it is crucial for our Chinese government to find a way to let the public get involved in politics and know more about how the system operates, which,I suppose, should be more acceptable for us to acknowledge our policy system.
