摘要：A system and method for maintaining an uninterrupted data flow in a
communications network includes a transmitter (10), which transmits the data flow from adata source and a receiver (15), which receives the data flow. A channel (14) interconnectsthe transmitter (10) and the receiver (15); and communicates the dataflow between thetransmitter (10) and the receiver (15). A switch (48) is located in the channel (14) betweenthe transmitter (10) and the receiver (15). The switch (48) is openable for a period of time,which is sufficient to permit analysis of signal impairment in the channel (14) withoutinterrupting the data flow.
